What side effects have you experienced? Did you get the relief you hoped from the treatment? How did you handle the length of time the treatment required? Would you advise a different medication/alternative to the remicade infusions?

It takes me about three hours to fall asleep, and I wake up spontaneously during the night. So I took half of a Unisom sleeping pill last night at about midnight, and I slept hard for twelve hours, right through my alarm. I still feel sleepy, like I could sleep for a whole day. That was the first time I’d ever used sleeping medication, so I’m wondering if this extreme effect will lessen if I continue to use it.
Also, I’d like to know if there’s a natural, healthy alternative to sleeping pills that won’t “knock me out” like this.
Thanks everyone!

I have had bipolar depression for several years now. I am completely fed up with the way things are. I never feel like going out, I hold myself back, I get angry and sad over nothing, and I feel like it is destroying my relationships with everyone. I would give anything to change my life. I’m looking for ways to fight my depression without medication. What are things i can do? I don’t want medication to be an alternative because of the side affects. I really hope it won’t come down to that.
Please help

What is a good alternative drug to xanax? A medication that works as fast but is not addictative? I have panic attacks and anxiety attacks, and I am working with a doctor — but she doesn’t seem to be all that knowledgeable on current drugs.

Can anyone suggest (and I will ask her about this) a drug that is as good on panic attacks as Xanax (which I took in the past – but waaaay too addictive) – which will work quickly – where I can feel the effects within 24 hours? I cannot go again waiting for 6 weeks for a drug to kick in, with my big panic attacks.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

I’ve tried several conventional medications for Osteoarthritis and none of them help. Has anyone found any alternative way to treat this condition? Chinese herbs? I live in Los Angeles.

Hi.
I am on a medication (not a controlled substance, in this state) and I am unable to request doctor authorization due to my doctor’s vacation.
I risk seizure if I miss enough, and i’m wondering whether or not it would be possible to go to the hospital and speak with a doctor to get an emergency prescription for the next couple of days?
I know I should be more prepared, and yahoo answers is a very preliminary step, mind you, but I just wanted to know if anyone knew an alternative to doctor authorization in a “quasi-emergency?”
